Why Don't We Move?

It's been a long long time since I went to church. But I was always really frustrated when I went because for people who preached such a powerful love, they seemed so afraid to express it.

i remember bringing a good friend to my church and having him get up in the middle of worship raise his hands and cry out. at first, i was sort of horrified, i looked around to see who was looking at us. but then i was instantly ashamed, i was almost jealous. his love so pure for God, that he didnt care what or who was around him.

when i went to his church it was unlike any church i had been to, people stood, sat, kneeled, they cried out or raised their hands. their passion for the lord was powerful, you couldn't help but feel it in the room.

there were a lot of things i didn't agree about with his church, but i couldn't ever say that i wasnt inspired but the purity of their worship.

so why don't we move? we don't move because we are afraid. we spend our entire lives being taught to blend, and that idea extends even into the church.

We don't move because of fear. We don't speak because of fear. We don't act because of fear.

He moved. He spoke. He acted. He was fearless. Remember those "No Fear" shirts? I was always too afraid to sport one. Sometimes I hate myself because of the fear that I have.
